Local man arrested on narcotics-dealing charges

COLUMBUS, Ind. — A Columbus man is in jail after a traffic stop led to his arrest on drug-dealing charges, police said.

Shortly before 10 p.m. Wednesday, Columbus police officers observed a vehicle that was traveling left of center near 17th Street and McClure Road, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman. The officers stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, Parker R. Broady, 21, Harris said.

A Columbus police dog alerted the officers to the odor of narcotics in the vehicle. During a search of Broady’s vehicle, officers located a backpack believed to contain marijuana, Xanax and several baggies, Harris said.
