John W. Burgeson

John W. Burgeson, 90, of Taylor Road, died at 12:48 p.m. July 23, 2017, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

John was born April 3, 1927, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Arthur Edmund Burgeson Sr. and Mabel Christina Sandquist Burgeson. He married Dolores Ann Nettleton June 14, 1952.

He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from 3M in 1991 after 41 years of service. John attended St. Peter’s Lutheran Church where he sang in the choir. He was also active with the Boy Scouts as an Eagle Scout and scout leader. He and Dolores were active members of the Tartanaires, a song and dance group from the 3M Company.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 29, 2017, at Four Seasons Chapel, with Pastor Patrick Galligar officiating. Calling will be from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at Four Seasons Chapel. Interment will be at a later date in Minnesota.

Memorials may be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or Four Seasons Chapel.

Survivors include his wife, Dolores; sons, David E. (Pam) Burgeson of Elwood, Illinois, and Philip J. (Audra) Burgeson of North Branch, Minnesota; daughters, Gail (Mark) Miller of Columbus and Alice (Jim) Peterson of North Branch, Minnesota; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Arthur Edmund Burgeson Jr.

Services were entrusted to Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
