Session will help with diabetes meal-planning

Dining with Diabetes sessions will take place from all four Mondays in August.

They will be conducted Aug. 7, 14, 21 and 28 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at Four Seasons Retirement Center, 1901 Taylor Road, Columbus.

The program will teach necessary skills to promote good health. Topics will include planning meals and snacks, reading food labels, using a variety of sweeteners, replacing salt with seasoning, the role of fiber in the diet, the difference between various types of fat, ideas for being more active and setting personal goals to manage diabetes.

Dining with Diabetes is designed especially for people with type 2 diabetes, their family members or anyone wishing to learn more about healthy eating.

Class size is limited to the first 22 people.
