BCSC bus involved in accident in Taylorsville

A Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. bus transporting 29 children to Taylorsville Elementary School was involved in an accident this morning.

Karen Wetherald, BCSC transportation director, said the BCSC bus struck the rear-end of a vehicle as it was turning onto Tannehill Road. No injuries were reported due to the incident, which occurred around 8:10 a.m., she said

Students on the bus were evaluated at the scene by emergency medical technicians and then transported to school on a different bus, Wetherald said.

The bus driver, who started in 2016 and was not identified, was tested for drugs and alcohol under the district’s policy, which requires testing whenever an accident occurs, Wetherald said.
