Crusaders sweep Hawks

Columbus Christian posted it second three-set win against the Columbus Hawks in three days, this time posting a 25-11, 25-7, 25-21 victory on Thursday.

Sabrina Herron led the Crusaders (2-0) with three kills, seven assists, five digs and eight aces. Mayah Schundelmeier added five kills and two blocks, Savannah Herron served 12 aces and Lauren Hunnicutt had one block.

“We really got into a good rhythm,” Columbus Christian coach Sarah Stair said. “I used three different lineups again. The girls are really enjoying that, being able to move around and play different positions. They really jelled.”

Emily Walls pounded three kills; Kathryn Tuttle recorded two assists, Ellie Ridder, Ava Farnsley and Cami Hoene all had three digs and Cami Hoene served two aces for the Hawks (0-2). Ridder added one kill, Farnsley had one assist and Tuttle served one ace.

Lancers win tri match

GREENSBURG — Vanessa McManaway carded a 44 to win medalist honors and lead Edinburgh to a tri-match win at North Branch. The Lancers finished with a 195 team total to 243 for North Decatur and 259 for Southwestern (Shelby).

Kenzie Hill added a 46 for Edinburgh. Kierra Richards shot 49, Savannah Kellams had a 56 and Morgan Calhoun tallied a 60.
