The Southern Indiana Center for the Arts (SICA) is hosting a youth art class from 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 29 at 2001 N. Ewing St. in Seymour for ages 4-8, centered around the popular children’s book “Fancy Nancy Bonjour, Butterfly.”
Participants will view the book, and craft projects will have a butterfly theme. The class is limited to 15 children.
Projects include a 12-inch by 12-inch canvas butterfly art piece using acrylic paint and cut-out butterflies, and a clay butterfly that children will stamp, carve and glaze. A third station will feature Stephanie Mysak’s famous face painting. Each person will get their face painted to look like a butterfly.
The cost is $30, but SICA members receive a 20 percent discount. All supplies are provided. Participants must be preregistered and prepaid by Aug. 27 by calling SICA at 812-522-2278.
