Donald ‘Joe’ Reedy

Donald J. “Joe” Reedy, 87, of Seymour, passed away on Sunday, August, 13, 2017, at Schneck Medical Center. He was born to the late Lawrence and Bernice (Shelton) Reedy. He was a member of Peters Switch Nazarene Church. He was a 2nd Lieutenant during the Korean War. He was retired from Cummins after 36 years. He sold Reedy Redwood signs at the local fairs. Later in life, he enjoyed fellowship at the local Seymour McDonald’s and Walmart.

He is survived by wife, Helen; children, Rebecca (Mac) Reedy McClellan, Richard (Paula) Nowling, Dana (Linda) Reedy and Deloris (Andy) Reedy Johns; 9 grandchildren, including his best friend Sammy Joe; several great grandchildren; and a sister, Sally Wagner.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Jacob and John Reedy; and a step-daughter, Brenda Lee Nowling.

Funeral services will be at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Thursday, August 17, at 1 p.m. with Rev. Keith Ross officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Brownstown with full military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour.

Friends and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Wednesday, August 16, from 4-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 12 noon until time of service.
