A local man was arrested on several drug-related charges including dealing in methamphetamine after a traffic stop.
Columbus Police stopped David W. Hill, 47, Columbus, at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the 2600 block of Central Avenue, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman. Officers confirmed warrants for Hill’s arrest and a police canine alerted to the odor of narcotics coming from Hill’s vehicle, Harris said.
Officers located a bag inside the vehicle containing marijuana, five bags of methamphetamine and prescription medication, Harris said. Officers also recovered more than $2,800 in currency from Hill during his arrest.
Hill is being held without bond at the Bartholomew County Jail on warrants out of Lawrence County and Jackson County and on preliminary charges of dealing in methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance and maintaining a common nuisance.
