5 things to know about Saturday’s Mill Race Park concert

Here are five things to know about Saturday’s 31st annual Our Hospice of South Central Indiana fundraising concert, which is free and open to the public.

1) Key times: Welcome, 6:30 p.m; opening act, The Woomblies Rock Orchestra, 7 to 8 p.m.; headliner, classic rock band Blue Öyster Cult, 8:30 to 10 p.m.

2) Where: Amphitheater area of Mill Race Park on Fifth Street in Columbus. Parking at Cummins Inc. lot across from the park, downtown garages and other locations. Special seating in the concert area and limited parking at Lindsey and 8th Street entrance for people with disabilities.

3) Logistics: Park opens from 8 to 11 a.m. for people to place lawn chairs or blankets for seating. Afterward, it is closed to vehicular traffic.

4) Food/drinks: Coolers and picnic baskets can be brought into the park, but vendors also will provide drinks such as lemon shake-ups and food such as pizza, pulled pork, ice cream and popcorn. Proceeds from sales at park used to treats patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families.

5) Other info: Raffle tickets available at $10 each for chance to win $10,000. Also raffle tickets for Faurecia-designed grills at $10 each.
