Charles T. Ballard Sr., 75, of Columbus, passed from this life at 6:50 p.m. Saturday, September 2, 2017, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Mr. Ballard retired from the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation in 2003.
A music enthusiast, Mr. Ballard enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley and had a passion for classical cars.
The funeral will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor John Armstrong officiating.
Family and friends may call from 9:30 a.m. to time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Bear Creek Cemetery.

Charles was born March 2, 1942, in Glasgow, Kentucky. He was the son of William M. and Lillian F. Byrd Ballard.
He married Beverly J. Hawkins on September 27, 1975.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Beverly Ballard; his children, Ava (Charles) Rider, Angela Ballard and Charles Ballard Jr., all of Columbus; grandchildren, Stephanie Arnold, Breanna Arnold, Chase Rider and Jaylin Ballard; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Gary (Debbie) Ballard of Hope; and sisters, Betty (Don) Ison and Brenda (Darlene Villa both of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Clifton Ballard.
