Letter: Family Service thankful for community support

From: Julie Miller, Family Service Inc. executive director

Columbus

Family Service Inc. has been providing the Healthy Families program since its inception in 1994. The program has served more than 2,260 families in Bartholomew County over the past 23 years.

As of Sept. 1, the Healthy Families program no longer is housed with Family Service, located in the Doug Otto Center/United Way Center at 1531 13th St., Columbus. Family Service has transitioned the program to New Hope Service Inc.

Family Service is thankful to the community for generous support over the past 23 years with the Healthy Families program. With that support, we have been able to impact more than 2,300 children within our community by increasing developmental assets and decreasing risk factors.

Family Service Inc. is a private non-profit agency that has been providing quality services for 50 years in Bartholomew County. We will continue to focus on our community’s mental health and child-abuse prevention efforts through the programs of: counseling, Family Life Education classes, Caring Parents and Child Abuse Prevention. Family Service has the privilege of serving more than 12,000 individuals annually.

We are thankful to the community, again, for wonderful support and collaboration throughout the years.
