The highly successful Grant A Wish program of The Heritage Fund — the Community Foundation of Bartholomew County has been discontinued.
But Heritage Fund leaders, among the most supportive organizations for local nonprofits for years, stress that the foundation will continue helping agencies.
The Heritage Fund notified agencies earlier this week via a message from Kristin Munn, development director.
“We appreciate all the work that you do and the difference you make in the Bartholomew County community,” Munn said. “Our hope is to find additional, and potentially more impactful ways to serve the nonprofit community in the future.”
Grant A Wish raised approximately $355,000 since 2010 donated to nonprofits in Bartholomew County, according to the foundation’s records. That total includes match dollars from corporate partners such as Elwood Staffing, MainSource Bank and others, plus match dollars contributed by the Heritage Fund.
Last year was a record, resulting in approximately $100,000 donated to nonprofits in Bartholomew County, according to the foundation.
