James ‘David’ Sturgeon

NASHVILLE

James “David” Sturgeon, age 28 of Nashville, died Monday evening at Columbus Regional Hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile-pedestrian accident in Nashville.

David was born October 3, 1988, in Vincennes, Indiana. He worked at the Nashville Recycling Center. He loved writing and reading poetry and was an avid book reader. He had attended the Country Gospel Music Church.

David is survived by his father and step-mother, Steve and Amber (Connelly) Sturgeon, of Hope, IN; his mother, Carole Risley, of Lawrenceville, IL; his daughter, Luna Sturgeon, of Nashville; one son, Jadias “Alex” Sturgeon, of Brookville, IN; five half-brothers, Justin Scroggins, of Martinsville, IN, Cory Sturgeon, of Madison, IN, Kylar Brian Cowan, of Hope, IN and Brad and Bobby Risley, both of Vincennes, IN; three half-sisters, Danielle Sturgeon, of Indianapolis, Erika Sturgeon, of Frisco, TX and Stephanie Bush, of Nashville, IN; one step-sister, Jordan Cowan, of Hope; one step-brother, Brian Cowan, of Hope; his grandfather, Jim Sturgeon, of Nashville and his grandmother, Donna Pettit Girard, of New Bern, North Carolina.

David was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, James and Lois Sturgeon.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home in Nashville. Burial will follow in the Duncan Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
