Orchids to …

• Ann Marie Vreeland and Nichole Vreeland, the Mental Health and Substance Abuse Action team coordinators from Healthy Communities through Columbus Regional Health, for organizing and presenting the informative and resourceful presentation that detailed the opioid epidemic, discussed the importance reducing the stigma around seeking treatment for addiction and provided an abundance of resources for those in attendance, from an audience member.

• Matt Miller for voting against making the jail a rehabilitation center.

• the Bartholomew County Council members who show leadership by voting in favor to increase funding for the services we need.

• St. Bartholomew Catholic School for once again having the highest I-STEP scores in the county.

• the Bartholomew County Democrats for calling for the DACA rally at city hall because I enjoyed participating in it and I like to see my party responding to urging of our better angels.

• John Vanderbur for his very accurate letter concerning President Donald Trump.

• Nita Evans for her article in Saturday’s paper, “Prepare for Disaster.”
