BROWN COUNTY — Brown County Sheriff’s Department has identified the person killed in a two-vehicle crash in the 1600 block of West State Road 46.
Deputies said Kate Beckley, 18, Columbus, was traveling west on State Road 46 when she lost control of her vehicle for an unknown reason at 9:34 a.m. Thursday. Her car crossed the center line and struck an eastbound Wagler Trucking tri-axle dump truck driven by Anthony Wagler, 44, Nashville.
The dump truck driver was not injured, according to radio traffic from emergency responders at the scene.
Wagler was taken to Columbus Regional Hospital for a blood draw, as is standard procedure on fatal crashes, the Brown County Sheriff’s Department reported.
