FAYETTE, AL
Mr. Aaron Franklin “Frankie” Gibson Jr., age 74, of Fayette, AL, passed away Sunday, September 17, 2017, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 20, at 11 a.m. at Shepherd Baptist Church. The body will lie in state at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Brother Gary Hill will officiate. The family received friends Tuesday evening at Nelson Funeral Home.
Mr. Gibson was preceded in death by his parents, Aaron and Kathleen Gibson; a sister, Emily Gibson; a son, Marc Cundiff; and a grandson, Jacob Reasoner. Frankie was a lifelong member of the Newtonville Community and Shepherd Baptist Church. He was a deacon and Sunday school teacher for most of his adult life. He retired from Arvin Industries after 40 years. He was a committed, reliable, and giving friend. He loved his tractor, duck hunting, fishing, old cars and car shows, and his grandkids.
Survivors include his wife, Reba Gibson of Fayette, AL; son, Danny Cundiff (Angie) of Fayette, AL; daughters, Cindy Lawley (Mark) of College Station, TX, and Susanne Cundiff of Greenfield, IN; brother, Paul Gibson of Fayette, AL; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
