Seymour native, pilot, retires after serving 21 years in Navy

Navy Cmdr. Doug M. Reinbold, a Seymour native, has retired from the U.S. Navy after serving honorably for 21 years.

Reinbold last served as a Navy Pilot/MQ-8 Integrated Transition Team Lead with Commander Helicopter Sea Combat Wing, Naval Air Station North Island in San Diego.

As a pilot, Reinbold accumulated more than 3,000 hours of flight time in 10 types of aircraft. He won the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal and Meritorious Service Medal.

Reinbold is the son of Marion Reinbold and the late Sandra Reinbold of Seymour, and brother of Betsy Reinbold of Bloomington. He is the husband of Jennifer Reinbold and father of daughters Maci and Lucy.

Reinbold graduated from Seymour High School in 1988, and earned a bachelor’s degree in 1993 from Purdue University in West Lafayette.
