Police arrest local man on warrants, drug-related charges

Columbus police arrested a local man on two local warrants and drug-related charges after officers saw him walking near State Street and Indiana Avenue.

At 2:45 p.m. Friday, Columbus Police Officer Travis Harbaugh saw Adam Stephenson, 33, Columbus, walking near the intersection and confirmed there were warrants for his arrest, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

When Stephenson was taken to the Bartholomew County Jail, officers located a bag containing pills and tobacco concealed inside Stephenson’s clothing, Harris said. Stephenson is being held at the Bartholomew County Jail on the two warrants, possession of a controlled substance and trafficking with an inmate, Harris said.
