Dustin Rodgers, Columbus East senior soccer player

Rodgers netted three goals and an assist Saturday to lead the Olympians to a 6-1 win at New Albany. Earlier last week, he had an assist in a 5-0 win against Madison.

His performance last week: “I was a little disappointed toward the end of the first game, but then toward the weekend and after that game, I felt really good about it.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I just do my warmups with coach Buster (Copas), and just stretch out and get ready to go.”

Favorite drink: “Arizona Green Tea”

Favorite food: “Ramen noodles”

Favorite book: “The Inheritance Chronicles”

Favorite class: “Calculus”

Role model: “Iron Man”

Best advice: “Continue to work hard in practice, and it will show up in the game.”

Athletics goal: “I want to make the record books for (top-10) all-time scoring at Columbus East High School.”

If you could travel anywhere: “I’d probably go to Italy to check out the vatican and all the other historical sites.”

Caroline Hollenkamp, Columbus North sophomore soccer player

Hollenkamp recorded a hat trick with three goals Saturday to lead the Bull Dogs to a 7-0 win against Perry Meridian. She also played 18 minutes in goal and recorded one save.

Her performance last week: “I’ve been playing a lot of positions, so it’s been different. I’m not really used to the positions I’ve been playing.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “We usually listen to music in the locker room before the games just to get us all pumped up.”

Favorite drink: “Orange Gatorade”

Favorite food: “Mac and cheese”

Favorite book: “The ‘Divergent’ Series”

Favorite class: “Math”

Role model: “My brother (Rico). He’s going D-I (to Butler) for soccer next year.”

Best advice: “You can’t always rely on talent. You have to work hard.”

Athletics goal: “To play in college”

If you could travel anywhere: “I’ve never been out of the U.S., so anywhere out of the U.S..”
