VOLLEYBALL

Jets sweep Oldenburg Academy

OLDENBURG — Hauser rolled to a 25-21, 25-16, 25-19 win Thursday at Oldenburg Academy.

Alana Owen recorded 32 assists, three blocks and 13 digs, Madie Sherman pounded nine kills and three blocks and Sydney Schoen had 20 digs and three aces to lead the Jets (25-3).

Schoen also had eight kills. Sarah Tedder added five kills, five digs and two aces.

Eagles topple Southwestern (Shelby)

NASHVILLE — Brown County cruised to a 25-18, 25-12, 25-23 win against Southwestern (Shelby).

Madalyn Allen led the Eagles (12-7) with 14 service points.

Cougars stop Rising Sun

GREENSBURG — South Decatur dropped the third set, but recovered to beat Rising Sun 25-20, 25-21, 17-25, 25-22.

Zoey Nobbe recorded 11 kills and 16 digs, and Taylor Best had 21 assists and 16 digs to lead the Cougars (6-18). Madison Owens had two blocks, and Karah Biddinger served four aces.

CROSS-COUNTRY

Jet teams take 7th

GREENSBURG — Both the Hauser boys and girls placed seventh in the Greensburg Invitational, while the South Decatur girls placed eighth.

The Jet boys finished with 146 points. David Seelye finished 12th in 18:07.13, while Jordan Johnson was 23rd (19:12.00), Ryan Ault 39th (20:32.71), Brock Thalls 45th (20:53.25), Sam Robinson 47th (21:05.80) and Noah 60th (24:38.53).

The Cougars did not have enough runners to score as a team.

Charlie Hamilton finished 28th in 19:25.82, while Nolan Storm was 51st (21:32.84) and Logan Platt 57th (22:19.20).

The Hauser girls scored 196 points. Lauryn Starnes finished 33rd in 24:31.29, while Tammy Essex was 36th (24:54.98), Hae-Leigh Washburn 46th (28:12.19), Leah Joyce 48th (28:41.77) and Kristin Keith 56th (31:52.23).

South Decatur girls scored 198 points. Sierra Kalli finished 31st in 24:07.03, while Allison Boilanger was 40th (25:34.28), Hannah Miller 47th (28:36.50), Claire Hamilton 49th (29:07.20) and Brianna Browder  58th (34:20.99).

Trinity tops Bloomington Lighthouse

BLOOMINGTON — Trent Shoemaker and Noah Criswell each scored a goal to lift Trinity Lutheran to a 2-1 win at Bloomington Lighthouse.

Sawyer Doggett had an assist for the Cougars (6-7-3). Sam Hayes recorded seven saves.

Cougars win in shutout

SEYMOUR — Trinity Lutheran rolled to a 5-0 victory against Bloomington Lighthouse.

The Cougars improve to 6-7-1.

BOYS TENNIS

Braves oust Cougars

SEYMOUR —  Trinity Lutheran fell to Brownstown Central 4-1 in the semifinals of the Seymour Sectional.

The Cougars only point came from Avery Schwipps and Noah Voelker, who beat Reece Carlin and Cole Shasteen 7-5, 6-3 at No. 2 doubles.

Bailey Barker fell to Ethan Carlin 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, Jace Crockett lost to Ethan Wischmeier 6-1, 6-3 at No. 2 singles and Matt Stuckwisch fell to Adam Pottschmidt 6-2, 6-4 at No. 3 singles. Pierce McCammon and Hunter Morgan lost to Jackson Lahrman and Gunner Zickler 6-1, 6-3 at No. 1 doubles.
