Pair asleep in vehicle arrested on drug charges

Bartholomew County sheriff deputies arrested two people on drug-related charges after they were found asleep in a car near West County Road 100N and North County Road 250W.

Deputy Brent Worman talked to the driver at 3:43 a.m. Saturday, identifying him as Jeremy Kittle, 39, of 4965 W. County Road 200N. However, Kittle told Worman that he was homeless.

When Sgt. Jason Lancaster and Deputy Leah Burton arrived to assist, Burton told Worman that the passenger, Doreen Cregar, 55, 1509 Union St., had a white powdery substance.

Deputies said Lancaster found a baggie and a prescription pill bottle which was not prescribed to Kittle or Cregar and contained multiple pills. Lancaster also found a glass pipe with burn marks and white residue, deputies said.
