Edinburgh’s attempts to pick up its first victory of the season were spoiled by visiting Trinity Lutheran on Friday 36-16.
Lancers scores were provided by sophomore quarterback Tyson Sackman on a 6-yard touchdown run and Sackman’s 29-yard pass to Hunter Dean.
Sackman finished the game completing 16 of 28 passes for 152 yards. He was also the team’s leading rusher with 44 yards on eight carries.
Meanwhile, senior Zach Murphy snagged six receptions for 70 yards with Dillon Simpson corralling eight for 47 yards. Defensively, Dean led the way for Edinburgh with seven tackles followed by Justin Fosskuhl and Alex Kirby with five apiece.
Edinburgh enters the postseason with an 0-9 record for the first time since 2008. The Lancers host South Decatur on Friday in Sectional 46 of Class A.
