Noah S. Dile

COLUMBUS

Noah S. Dile, 84, of Columbus, died at 5:38 p.m. October 15, 2017, at Homeview Health in Franklin.

Noah was born March 5, 1933, in Metcalfe County, Kentucky, the son of Major R. and Leada Burton Dile.

He married Mary R. Cutsinger in Jamestown, Kentucky, November 19, 1949, and they were married for 67 years.

He spent most of his life in Bartholomew County, having moved to Columbus when he was 12 years old.

He was a retired farmer and also retired from the City of Columbus.

Noah and Mary enjoyed spending their winters in Florida, and he enjoyed camping, traveling and fishing.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, October 23, 2017, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Glenn Poynter officiating. Calling will be from 1-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorial donations can be made to BCRF (Breast Cancer Research Foundation).

Survivors include his wife, Mary; son, Samuel R. (Emma Hemingway) Dile of St. Cloud, Florida/Jamestown, Kentucky; siblings, Betty Walker of Columbus, Pearlie Whited of Columbus, Ray (Mary Ann) Dile of North Vernon, Elizabeth (Jim) Hammon of Scipio, Sue (Horace Jr.) Ballard of Columbus and Naomi (David) Pyle of Elizabethtown; grandchildren, Mindy Dile Baker, Benjamin S. Lewis and Brent Lewis; great-grandchildren, Sharon V. Lewis, Haley Boatright, Maya Baker, Aliza Baker, Romanza Lewis, Neveah Lewis, Dante Lewis and Colin Richey; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Noah Randall Dile; a daughter, Sharon Diana Dile-Lewis; and sisters, Geneva, Anna Katherine and Linda Marie Dile.
