COLUMBUS
Doris M. Bringle, age 91, of Bartholomew County, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Lakeview Manor in Indianapolis.
Doris was born in January of 1926 in New Jersey.
Doris was the youngest and only surviving child of Gustave Barnett and Burnetta Johnson-Barnett.
Doris married U.S. Navy Veteran Lynn E. Bringle in June of 1949, together having six children, all surviving.
Their children are Jeffrey Bringle of Columbus, Kenneth Bringle and Lois Sprague, both of Indianapolis, Linda (Daniel) Ryan of Evansville, Douglas (Sharon) Bringle of Columbus and Steven (Traci) Bringle of Indianapolis. Doris also leaves behind eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Bringle enjoyed a long and productive life of raising her children, working in retail, primary education, and as the housemother at Circle Pines Men’s Co-op of Purdue University.
In addition, Doris enjoyed arts and live entertainment, travel to distant places and time with friends and family.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the Old Union Christian Church, 12703 N. County Road 50W, Edinburgh. Burial will be at Old Union Cemetery.
