Planned Parenthood sign, nearby office damaged in vandalism

Columbus police are investigating who splattered red paint across the sign for Planned Parenthood along North National Road early Tuesday morning.

The red paint was still slightly wet when Planned Parenthood employees and employees of the next door Orthotic & Prosthetic Designs office arrived this morning to find paint splashed across the sign and on the sidewalk in front of the orthotic office.

Julie Kean, owner of the orthotic office, said the paint was not water-soluble and employees weren’t able to get the paint off the sidewalk or railing near their offices despite continued scrubbing.

The offices, on Sycamore Court facing National Road, do not have security cameras but do have lighting in the front, Kean said. A Planned Parenthood official on site declined to comment.
