Betty J. Hitch-Vannice

Betty J. Hitch-Vannice, 62, of Columbus, died at 2:20 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Kindred Hospital in Indianapolis.

She was born October 28, 1955 in Campbellsville, Kentucky, the daughter of Eugene and Martha D. Pierce Hitch. Betty married Kirt A. Vannice April 24, 1987 in Louisville, Kentucky.

Betty worked for Como Plastics for 24 years. She most recently worked for the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation as a Bus Monitor, and started there in 2009.

Mrs. Vannice is survived by her husband, Kirt; children, Christina (Richard D.) Anderson of Taylorsville, Royce (Taylor) Burns, Brad (Lillian) Vannice, Nicholas (Christina) Vannice, all of Columbus, Stacy Vannice of Florida; granddaughters, Ashley (J.C.) Bush and Ambra Burns; great-grandchildren, Orie Bush, Garrett Asbury, Lyla Bush and Isabella Torres; mother, Martha Hitch of Columbus; sisters, Marilyn (John) Winright of Angola, Indiana, Patsy Battin, Penny (Charlie) Pedigo, both of Columbus; brothers, Donald E. Hitch, Sammy Hitch, both of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Hitch.

The funeral service will be conducted at noon Saturday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Hywell Thomas officiating. Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Bethel Baptist Cemetery.
