Open house planned for new digital lab

Foundation for Youth is inviting the community to an open house for its new Comcast Digital Lab.

The event will be 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Foundation for Youth, 405 Hope Ave., Columbus.

Comcast donated $4,900 to convert a storage closet there into a state-of-the-art digital environment featuring 10 computers, photography equipment and software. The new digital lab will enable nearly 200 children who participate in Boys and Girls Club programming to explore coding, digital arts, photography and making music, in addition to accessing educational resources, said Nathan Larrison, Boys and Girls Club director.

Comcast also is providing pizza, snacks and drinks at the open house, FFY officials said.
