Donate at Kroger for Pack-A-Patrol-Car

Bartholomew County Sheriff Matt Myers will be at Kroger Marketplace in Columbus between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday to accept non-perishable food items for the sheriff’s department Pack-a-Patrol-Car food drive.

Donations are down so far, and the department is hoping local residents will stop by to show their support and drop off canned food for the effort, deputies said. A sheriff’s car will be in the Kroger lobby today through Sunday as a donation site, deputies said.

In addition to dropping off canned goods at Kroger, containers to collect donations also are in the lobby of the sheriff’s department, 543 Second St., where donations may be made at any time. Deputies also are collecting non-perishable food during routine patrols.

All food that is donated will be given to Love Chapel’s Food Pantry, 311 Center St., and the Salvation Army, 2525 Illinois St.
