Jack W. Leonard, 71, of Bloomington passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at the Bell Trace Health and Living Center in Bloomington.

Jack was born on June 9, 1946 in Seymour, the son of Dave and Edna (Spurgin) Leonard. He married Betty Jacobs Smith on August 22, 1980 in Nashville, Indiana.

Jack was a graduate of Brown County High School.

He retired from Cummins Engine Co. in 1995 after working there for 31 years. Later he worked at Brown County IGA for 11 years, retiring for the second time in March 2008.

Jack enjoyed all sports, especially basketball, football and baseball.

He was a member of The Christiansburg Methodist Church.

Jack is survived by his wife, Betty Leonard of Bloomington; a daughter, Lori (Eric) Linder of Ellettsville; his sons, Neil Smith of Bloomington, Tracy (Dawn) Smith of Celina, Texas, and Tim Leonard of Columbus; grandchildren, Anna (Dustin) Johnson, Stori and Sierra Smith, Dominique and Donovan Linder; great-grandchildren, Shelby and Hayden Johnson; a sister, Margaret Carmichael of Brownstown; nephews, Larry Garloch, Randy Garloch and Gary Carmichael, and a niece, Joy Soladine; stepsisters, Rhonda Walls, Marlene Huber and Shirley Blair of Brown County, Audrey Crase and Barbara Lowe of Columbus, and Brenda Frank of Nevada.

His parents, a son, Steve Leonard, sisters, Mary Garloch and Louise Leonard, and a brother, Charles Leonard, preceded him in death.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 20, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home & Crematory, 4155 S. Old State Road 37, Bloomington, with the Rev. Jason Hyer officiating. Burial will follow at the Christiansburg Cemetery in southern Brown County. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, November 19, 2017 and 9 a.m. to service time Monday, November 20, 2017 at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Christiansburg Methodist Church or the Christiansburg Cemetery Association.
