Semi fire closes southbound lanes of I-65 south of Columbus

Police and firefighters have shut down the southbound lanes of Interstate 65 at the 57 mile marker south of Columbus because of a semi fire.

The fire was reported just before noon in the southbound lanes. Harrison Township Fire Department firefighters and a tanker truck from Jackson County have been sent to the semi fire.

Police were working to divert traffic off the interstate north of the fire scene.
