COLUMBUS
Betty L. Bailey, 88, of Columbus, died 5:15 a.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at Miller’s Merry Manor of Hope.
She was born in Columbus on April 27, 1929, the daughter of Ross “Dick” and Dorothy Updike Tetrick.
She married Charles D. “Bud” Bailey on December 20, 1963 in Taylorsville; he preceded her in death July 5, 1996.
Betty enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She collected thimbles, like working crossword puzzles and watching Pacers basketball games.
She is survived by sons, Larry (Dottie) Bledsoe of Columbus and Dave (Becky) Bailey of Nicholasville, Kentucky; sister, Druscilla (Oscar) Huntsman of Westport, Indiana; grandchildren, Mike (Kelly) Bledsoe of Columbus and Samantha (Jimmy) Rose of Nicholasville, Kentucky; great grandchildren, Blair and Bailey Bledsoe of Columbus and Audrey Fraddosio of Nicholasville, Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and daughter, Debbi Schisler.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Myers~Reed Chapel on 25th Street with Larry Detwiler officiating. Calling will be from 10 a.m. until the service time Friday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
