Getting down to business of eating

The city of Columbus has called a special meeting of the City Council. It’s not to pore over business, but to pass the gravy.

A quorum of council members are expected to attend the City of Columbus Employee Christmas Lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at The Commons.

Notification of the special meeting means they are able to attend and receive information, but they will not be in session and will not conduct business, according to a meeting notice from the mayor’s office.

City offices that will be closed during this time include Animal Care Services, City Hall, Columbus Housing Authority, Columbus City Utilities, Columbus Police Department Records Division, Department Public Works, and Parks and Recreation.
