BOYS BASKETBALL

Pirates stop Panthers

GREENSBURG — Class 3A No. 7 Greensburg was too much for Jennings County on Friday night in an 86-60 victory.

Gage Walters led the Panthers (1-2) with 15 points and six assists, while Travis Wilson added 14 points, 13 rebounds and seven steals. Aaron Martin also scored 14 points.

Clovers top Eagles

CLOVERDALE — Cloverdale raced to a 32-15 halftime lead and posted a 60-43 Western Indiana Conference win against Brown County.

Isaiah Keefauver led the Eagles (1-6, 0-3) with 18 points. Ezra Scully added 10.

South Decatur falls

GREENSBURG — Morristown jumped out to a 40-13 halftime lead and went on to hand South Decatur a 76-41 Mid-Hoosier Conference loss.

Matt Cornett led the Cougars (0-7, 0-1) with 21 points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Clovers edge Eagles

CLOVERDALE — Brown County cut an eight-point fourth-quarter deficit to one with 12 seconds remaining, but Cloverdale held on for a 51-48 WIC win.

Gracie Matlock led the Eagles (5-6, 0-6) with 12 points. Allison Stogsdill added 10.
