NORTH VERNON
Chuck H. Lovejoy, Jr., 58, of North Vernon, died unexpectedly at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, December 16, 2017 at his residence.
Chuck was born April 21, 1959, in Martinsville, Indiana, the son of Charles H. and Olive E. Galyan Lovejoy. On December 8, 1979, he married Mary Jean Hatton.
Mr. Lovejoy worked at Dorel Juvenile Group, Inc. for 15 years as a printer. He enjoyed nature and singing. Chuck sang with the Woodsmen Quartet for ten years. He loved sports, especially the Cincinnati Reds, Indianapolis Colts and Indiana University.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 38 years, Mary Jean; sons, Brandon and Phillip Lovejoy, all of North Vernon; mother, Olive Lovejoy of Bloomington; sisters, Connie Reedy of Bloomington, Kathy (Dan) Myrick of Fleming Island, Florida; nieces and nephews, Amy (Lonnie) Tomy, Lonnie Hatton, Jayna (Steve) Wythe, Allison Renner, Tim Renner; and many great-nieces and -nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles H. Lovejoy; son, Gregory Lovejoy in 1985; maternal and paternal grandparents.
The funeral will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Brother David Adams officiating. Family and friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
