Two Jennings County law enforcement agencies participated in a recent pullover blitz that targeted drivers who were impaired or not wearing seat belts, resulting in nearly a dozen arrests.
Jennings County Sheriff’s Department deputies issued 126 citations and made two arrests within a 24-hour period during. The department said it would continue to enforce seat belt, impaired driving and other traffic laws to ensure holiday celebrations are safe and festive.
North Vernon Police Department made 184 vehicle stops, issued 61 traffic citations and 134 warnings, made nine criminal arrests — for charges including drug possession and possession of paraphernalia — and conducted four field sobriety tests.
