South Decatur survives Golden Eagles, falls to Saints

EDINBURGH— South Decatur won its first game of Tuesday’s Edinburgh Holiday Classic tournament beating Christel House Academy 69-60 after holding onto a two point lead to start the fourth quarter.

Jacob Watts led the Cougars with 33 points on seven made 3-pointers. Matt Cornett knocked down 11 of his 12 free-throws on his way to scoring 25 points. Brandon Benge added nine points.

South Decatur lost its second game 68-53 to Indianapolis Lutheran. Cornett scored a game-high 32 points while Watts finished with nine points for the Cougars.

Trinity Lutheran rebounds after loss

EDINBURGH— Trinity Lutheran started the Edinburgh Holiday Classic with a 70-48 loss to Hagerstown, but bounced back with a 66-33 win over Medora.

Jacob Rowe scored 14 points and AJ Goecker had 11 against Hagerstown.
