BOYS BASKETBALL

Eagles place fourth

CHESTNUT— Brown County placed fourth in the Monrovia tournament after losing 66-52 to Greenwood Christian in the placement round.

Both Isaiah Keefauver and Ezra Scully led the Eagles with 16 points.

Crusaders can’t hold on

MEDORA— Columbus Christian headed into the fourth quarter of Saturday’s game at Medora with a three-point lead, but couldn’t hold on for the win.

The was a scrummage for the ball with the scored tied in the final seconds of the game that went to Medora after a Hornets timeout. Medora came out of the timeout and scored the go ahead bucket that gave it the 50-48 win over the Crusaders.

Conner Emily of Columbus Christian finished with a game-high 23 points, and Kyle Foster added 12.

WRESTLING

North wrestler wins Holiday Duals

CRAWFORDSVILLE— Brigham Kleinhenz won all nine of his matches in the Montgomery Holiday Duals, including the four matches on Saturday that crowned him the tournament champion for the 170 pounds weight class.

Morgan Smith finished the weekend 6-4 to place fifth at 106 pounds.

Rooks brothers go undefeated

MISHAWAKA— Columbus East ended the Mishawaka Tournament with two champions on Saturday.

Both Cayden (126) and Graham (132) Rooks went undefeated to win their weight classes and help the Olympians finish third overall with 195.5 points. Indianapolis Cathedral placed first with 233 points.

Second-place finished for the Olympians came from Dawson Combest (138) and Jake Schoenegge (145). Nick South finished third at 160 pounds.

Joey Gordon (120), Corban Pollitt (152) and Andy Davidson (170) all placed seventh.
