BOYS BASKETBALL

Warriors oust Lancers

WHITELAND — Edinburgh played Whiteland even in the second half Thursday night, but couldn’t overcome a 10-point halftime deficit in a 66-56 loss at Whiteland in the consolation round of the Johnson County Tournament.

Christian Cox led the Lancers (8-6) with 21 points. Bryce Burton added nine.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Tigers topple Lancers

CROTHERSVILLE — Crothersville jumped out to a 22-5 lead after one quarter and went on to hand Edinburgh a 75-45 Mid-Hoosier Conference loss.

Sidney Beier led the Lancers (8-9) with 11 points.

South Decatur falls

WALDRON — Waldron ran out to a 21-2 lead after one quarter and went on to hand South Decatur a 64-30 Mid-Hoosier Conference loss.

Madison Owens led the Cougars (2-16, 0-5) with nine points. Sierra Lang grabbed 12 rebounds, and Owens added 10.

Mustangs top Trinity

SEYMOUR — Class A No. 5 Trinity Lutheran led by a point going into the fourth quarter, but New Washington rallied for a 44-39 victory.

Piper Acton and Sydney Jaynes each scored 10 points to lead the Cougars (15-4). Jaynes grabbed 10 rebounds.
