The shift A firefighters that work at Station 1, downtown off Washington Street, deserve recognition because they made a visit by my grandson into a special occasion.
On the morning of Dec. 26, my almost 3-year-old grandson visited from Austin, Texas. The firefighters showed him all around the station and permitted him to sit behind and hold the wheel of the engines, and hear some of the sounds they make. They even fed him a brownie and cup of milk to boot!
The firefighters’ kindness and graciousness helped make the week visiting grandma in Columbus an extra-special memory for my grandson.
