COLUMBUS
Sarah M. Eldridge, 73, of Columbus, passed from this life at 3:54 p.m. Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Sarah was born January 23, 1944 to Jewel and Lydia Bartholomew from Westport, Indiana.
She graduated from Jackson Township High School in 1961.
Sarah worked in real estate, and was a longtime hairdresser in Columbus for 40 years until retiring in 2012.
Sarah was an active member of First Baptist Church where she was on various committees.
Sarah enjoyed spending time with her family, grandkids and friends, and she enjoyed bowling, working in her flower garden, playing euchre and traveling.
She married L. Frank Eldridge July 26, 1986 at First Baptist Church by Dr. Bill Griffith.
Survivors include her husband of 31 1/2 years, Frank; her daughter, Lana (Jason) Kelley of Columbus, her son, Bryan (Caroline) Watson of Zionsville; a stepson, Derek (Simona) Eldridge of Noblesville, a stepdaughter, Denise (Steve) Weaver of Midwest City, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Seth Kelley, Nicholas Kelley, Julia Watson and Samantha Eldridge; and half-sisters, Jean Schroer and Elizabeth Crouch.
Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, Jewel and Lydia Bartholomew; and her first husband, Lanny Robert Watson.
A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church with Dr. Daniel Cash officiating. Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church. Private inurnment will be at the First Baptist Church Columbarium.
In lieu of flowers, Sarah requested memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church Foundation, the Alzheimer’s Association or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
