Lane reopens after crash on I-65 south of Columbus

UPDATE: As of about 11 a.m., all lanes of I-65 southbound near mile marker 58 are open following an earlier accident. Southbound traffic will remain slow between the 58 and 64 mile markers for some time, Indiana State Police said.

COLUMBUS, Ind. — Indiana State Police troopers are on scene of multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 65 southbound near the 58-mile marker.

The right lane of I-65 south is estimated to be closed for two to three hours as crews attempt to remove a truck and two trailers, said Sgt. Stephen Wheeles, public information officer for the ISP Versailles District.

I-65 southbound traffic is backed up from the crash scene to the Walesboro exit. Motorists should seek an alternate route via U.S. 31 or State Road 11, Wheeles said.
