Margaret Louise Crowhorn Israel

GREENSBURG

Margaret Louise Crowhorn Israel, 82, of (Burney) Greensburg, died Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at her home.

She worked as a clerk at G.C. Murphy and as a bookkeeper for Israel Garage. She also spent years as a homemaker. She was a member of Burney Baptist Church.

Margaret enjoyed crocheting, baking, and ceramics. She also enjoyed her flowers and spending time with her family.

Born on March 30, 1935 in Decatur County, Margaret was the daughter of John G. Crowhorn and Anna Meredith Hobbs.

She married Charles R. Israel on April 3, 1955 in Brazil, Indiana, and he survives.

Other survivors include children, Gail (Bob) Ward and David (Peggy) Israel, both of Greensburg, and Belva (Steve) Brunner of Fayetteville, North Carolina; grandchildren, Jennifer (Mike) Ramech, Juston Israel and Erin (Brad) Hardebeck, all of Greensburg; great-grandchildren, Tyler Cole, Samantha Cole, Zoey Cole, Natalie Israel and Hadley Hardebeck, all of Greensburg; and siblings, Geneva Landis, Jim Crowhorn and Carlos Crowhorn.

Margaret is preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Craig Ward; and sister, Sue Moore.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Norman Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Pumphrey and Pastor Jeremy Martin officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to Burney Fire Department, Burney Baptist Church, or Hospice.
