Ronald A. Crumbo, 79, of Columbus, died unexpectedly at 7:12 p.m. Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at his residence.

Ronald was born September 4, 1938, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of Alfred and Naomi Green Crumbo.

He worked for Western Electric for 37 years, retiring in the mid 1990’s.

Ronald enjoyed working the Safety Patrol at the Indianapolis 500 Speedway and filled his time ushering at the Murat Theater and at the Indianapolis Indians baseball games. He also ushered at the former Market Square Arena.

Hiking and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren were among his favorite ways to enjoy retirement.

Ronald was a fan of the Cleveland Browns, an avid photographer and a longtime “Lawn Ranger” at Community Church of Columbus.

Survivors include his children, Tami Weber of Lawrence, Connie (Tim) Fields of Columbus, Bill Crumbo of Noblesville; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; constant companion, Sandra Munson of Lawrence; sister-in-law, Charlotte Crumbo of Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Jerry Crumbo and Robert Crumbo.

A celebration of life gathering will be held from 1 until 4 p.m. Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street. Following the family’s wishes, cremation will take place.
