Columbus Christian boys headed to finals

Columbus Christian moved into the finals of the boys basketball ICSAA South Regional with a 60-47 win against Madison Christian Academy on Saturday afternoon.

Conner Emily led the Crusaders (16-18) with 23 points. C.J. Reed added 16.

Columbus Christian will play at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday against the winner of Monday’s semifinal between Bloomington Lighthouse and Pleasant View Christian. That semifinal and the final were originally scheduled for Saturday, but Pleasant View had weather-related travel issues and was unable to play Saturday.

Jets down Braves

HOPE — Class A No. 10 Hauser won its sixth consecutive game to close the regular season, a 68-61 decision against Indian Creek.

The Jets improved to 16-6.

Eagles edge Wolverines

NASHVILLE — Brown County built a 20-10 halftime lead and had to hold on for a 41-39 win against White River Valley.

Ezra Scully led the Eagles (4-17) with 16 points. Noah Carter added 13.

Edinburgh tops Shawe

MADISON — Christian Cox scored 21 points to lead Edinburgh to a 53-38 win at Madison Shawe.

Justin Fosskuhl added 14 points for the Lancers (14-8).

Jennings County falls

NORTH VERNON — Jennings County played even with Class 4A No. 5 Bloomington South in the second half, but couldn’t overcome a 36-22 halftime deficit in a 69-55 loss.

Travis Wilson led the Panthers (5-17) with 23 points, 10 rebounds and three steals. Landon Hacker added 19 points and four assists.
