COLUMBUS

Sharon J. Thompson, 72, of Columbus, passed away with her family at her side at 8:01 p.m. Friday, February 16, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis.

Sharon retired from Toyota and Cummins Engine Company and was formerly employed at Arvin Industries and Cosco.

She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Waymansville.

The funeral will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. John L. Beabout officiating.

Family and friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday and 9:00 a.m. to time of service.

Burial will be at Bethel Baptist Cemetery.

Sharon was born November 22, 1945, in Columbus. She was the daughter of Virgil and Alberta Stroback Stillabower.

She married Harold Ray Thompson on October 17, 1964. He preceded her in death on June 11, 2017.

Survivors include her sons, Michael (Stephani) Thompson of Columbus and Brian Thompson of Columbus; grandchildren, Micah (Derrick Hampton) Thompson, Jared (Britney) Thompson, Heath (Bailey Paradise) Thompson and Sidney (Logan Palmer) Thompson; great-grandchildren, Natalie, Lilyana, Noah, Nohlan, Navie and Brayden; a brother, Roger (Gloria) Stillabower of Columbus; and her sisters, Brenda (John) White of Taylorsville and Dana (Tom) Hobbs of Columbus.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
