Board OKs bid for football field turf

Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. has selected a contractor to replace the artificial turf on the football fields at Columbus North and Columbus East high schools.

BCSC school board members on Monday unanimously approved a $853,111 bid from Sprinturf, based in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, to replace the turf.

The project is expected to begin in late May and will wrap up by mid-July, said Steve Forster, BCSC director of operations.
