Four people were arrested at a Columbus motel room after police were sent on a complaint of people smoking.
At about 9 p.m. Saturday, officers were sent to Motel 6, 161 Carrie Lane, and spoke with several people inside the room, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.
Officers confirmed they had a warrant for Shannon E. Hadley, 22, who is listed as homeless on jail records. While searching Hadley’s bag, officers found marijuana, a syringe containing methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia, Harris said. Officers obtained a search warrant for the room and recovered several syringes containing liquid methamphetamine as well as other drug paraphernalia. Officers also located a loaded handgun under a bed in the motel room, Harris said.
Hadley was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a legend drug injection device, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and visiting a common nuisance, in addition to the warrant, Harris said.
Damon L. Estes, 28, of 2265 Wallace Ave., Ashley D. Hadley, 27, of 6919 State Road 11, and Perry K. Davis, 21, Edinburgh, were each arrested on a preliminary charge of visiting a common nuisance, Harris said.
