The Jennings County Sheriff’s Department is joining law-enforcement agencies across Indiana this month to increase patrols for dangerous and impaired drivers during the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament and St. Patrick’s Day.
Last year, the weekend beginning St. Patrick’s Day had the highest number crashes involving impaired drivers. St. Patrick’s Day is March 17, a Saturday this year, and police are conducting random patrols, saturation patrols and sobriety checkpoints.
