Christian Cox, Edinburgh senior basketball player

Cox led the Lancers with 14 points and eight rebounds Saturday in a 64-48 loss to Christian Academy of Indiana in the Loogootee Regional semifinals.

His performance last week: “It was OK. I should have taken better shots during the game.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I just listen to music and get stretched out.”

Favorite drink: “Wild Cherry Gatorade”

Favorite food: “Steak”

Favorite book: “Gym Candy”

Favorite class: “History”

Role model: “LeBron James”

Best advice: “Play as hard as you can because it’s over before you know it.”

Athletics goal: “To play college basketball”

If you could travel anywhere: “Hawaii, just to kind of be on an island”

Addy Lewis, Columbus East junior gymnast

Lewis tied for eighth on the beam with a 9.25 and finished 21st in the all-around with a 35.35 Saturday to help lead the Olympians to a fourth-place finish in the state finals.

Her performance last week: “I think that I did the best that I could with a hurt knee. Floor and vault are really hard for me to do, but I think that I did pretty good on beam and bars.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I usually eat Qdoba before a meet and just kind of goof around and try not to take things too serious and focus on everybody else on the team and hype everybody else up.”

Favorite drink: “Sweet tea”

Favorite food: “Spaghetti”

Favorite book: “Where the Red Fern Grows”

Favorite class: “Intro to Ag”

Role model: “My mom (Melissa Lewis)”

Best advice: “If you ain’t first, you’re last (from “Talladega Nights”).”

Athletics goal: “To do better than fourth place next year as a team.”

If you could travel anywhere: “Washington state, because it’s absolutely gorgeous, and there are waterfalls and a bunch of hiking and stuff. It’s awesome.”
