Pauline F. “Polly” McNealy

COLUMBUS

Pauline F. “Polly” McNealy, 101, of Columbus died Thursday, March 15, 2018, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Polly was born July 30, 1916, the sixth of 12 children, to Frank and Alma Burns McNealy, in Bartholomew County. She worked for Roviar Shirt Factory, was a housekeeper and a very talented seamstress for family and friends.

Polly was gifted in making quilts and prided herself in helping her Dad and brothers work on the farm while her sisters had to stay inside helping Mom.

Polly enjoyed helping with preparation of meals for the large McNealy family gatherings no matter who was hosting. She and her sister, Alice, spent many hours “on the go” visiting and checking on family and friends.

There was not a trip taken that there wasn’t a basket of food prepared to take along which included her famous noodles.

Polly attributed her longevity to working hard and walking as often as possible.

She is survived by sisters, Nelda Amos of Punta Gorda, Florida and Clara Mae (Harold) Chipman of Greensburg; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by her parents; siblings, Arthur (Lenore) McNealy, Joe (Mary) McNealy, Alice (Allen) Van Est, Charlie (Ione) McNealy, Frieda NcNealy, Marcille (Earl) Rudolph, Herbert (Imogene) McNealy, Fred (Esther) McNealy and Chester McNealy.

Funeral service will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Monday at Myers~Reed Chapel on 25th Street with David Burnett officiating. Visitation 2-4 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Garland Brook Cemetery.
